Find a partner / contractor

"Where to run? Who can understand me at all? " I often hear this from business owners.

"I have been looking for a partner / contractor for many years, but no one knows anything about what I do ”

These people spend years searching, and over time, in despair, they assert their uniqueness - they invent their own batch of bicycles.

I will not question their genius, only all this time they lived in ignorance - the bicycle has long been invented, as well as its improved models.

Inertia of thinking

The inertia of thinking is to blame. This is the case when our deep experience plays against us... Everyone has their own unique understanding of the world, their own concerns and their own “wave”. The person tries to solve the problem in the way he is used to. And the first solution that comes to mind is usually a formulaic one.

A businessman will be understood by a businessman, a financier - a financier, an engineer - an engineer. Because they have the same context and level of detail. But the more complex the system or task, the more wider picture you need to see, and at the same time - a more complex study of details is required, where narrow specialists are needed.

So it turns out that while engineers enjoy the intricacies of technical implementation, algorithms and innovations, their ingenious point solutions at the business level create new problems.

And the most interesting thing is that even such a task as finding a partner is also limited by context and inertia - the usual way of searching in one's environment.

It turns out that we are all limited by our context.

Peekaboo

Once upon a time in childhood, my brother and I played hide and seek. I carefully  explored every nook and cranny in the courtyard, peering into the darkest corners, under every bush. A few hours later, shaking off the spiders, she fell to the ground from lack of strength and saw him on the tree. Sitting comfortably on a thick branch, he was absorbed in reading an adventure novel and looked carefree. All this time he was two steps away from me. You just had to “step” up.

Since then, every time I face a challenge, I remind myself to raise my head and look up. Complexity is nothing more than an emotional perception, and perhaps a solution is just around the corner.

Since then, I am in favor of mixing essences, contexts and ideas.

Get out of context

I like the current trend of "switchers" - when people, being mature specialists in different industries, retrain and master the field of IT. I have met law programmers and medical programmers and even programmer bankers. In addition to being tenacious and persistent, these people are capable of enriching the industry with fresh, non-standard ideas. By allowing them to be who they are and not trying to fit them into the culture, valuation, and business practices. And we ourselves should learn to perceive them, and try to understand.

Take a closer look - for sure there are people for whom your problem is - the usual routine. Look around, look a little wider, out of your context. You will most likely find them where you would never have thought to look. And they will look like you never imagined them.
