You don't need to learn the skill of devaluing your results, we are generously endowed with it from birth - perhaps this is how nature laid the desire for development.
Devaluation and motivation
When we are motivated, even a small result on the way to the goal looks like the conquest of Everest and brings satisfaction and charge. But what happens to motivation halfway to the goal? She disappears like a windy friend, losing all interest in you as soon as you gain a little experience. She is interested in younger audiences - dreamers and beginners - to inspire them to take their first few steps.
And now, charged “amateurs” sound loudly from the speakers of all gadgets and communication media with their success stories. AND expert and professional in his field stands quietly away from the audience, alone and confused, and does not find anything to brag about.
Because after the first concentrated leap, the road to professionalism is a set of routine, repetitive actions. There are no more vivid emotions there - all the energy is spent on maintaining the existing results. It’s as if I have taken a sack on myself and now I have to drag it - every day you become stronger and you feel less and less. And there is nothing inspiring about it.
Descending trend
We are accustomed to thinking in the paradigm of multiplication, but we forget about inflation - and if we take into account the “downward trend”, we will see how much “acquired” is already on our shoulders. So it turns out that for a qualitative leap forward, we need to surpass our present ourselves (the one with the bag), which means that we need to accumulate many times more energy and resources. But is a jerk really necessary? Is this bag still not “too full”?
Gentlemen-experts and professionals, turn around and carefully examine your “bag” - there probably already is life experience, instructive stories and funny adventures. And there are people in the hall who are waiting to listen to them with interest, because your boring routine for someone is insight and inspiration.
