I am against disposability. Disposable cup - consumer fast food. A dull surrogate. It can come in handy at a critical moment, but I don't want too many critical moments in my life, as well as plastic waste. I am for longevity. Longevity is thoughtfulness in time and development. Quality. Aesthetics. Care. I am for products and solutions that will be said: made with soul.
I am against conservatism. When they try to solve problems of a new level with the old "proven" methods, ignoring reality as a hindrance. When the most obvious is chosen from the infinite variety of solution options, covering up the banal laziness to look for alternatives.
At the same time, oddly enough, I am for tradition. Tradition is something that has evolved over time and that in which many people find meaning. Which, perhaps, is not clear to us now, but somehow it will “reach” later.
I am against the substitution of concepts. When things are not called by their proper names. And when conservatism is served as a tradition.
I am against triviality. When, after many hours of presentations, it turns out that modern business must invest in automated tools. The question is - why did we spend so much time to hear what was the topic of this event, and the dry residue fits into 5 minutes? I am for meanings. For first understanding what problem we want to solve. And be able to distinguish between problem and solution. And be patient when there is no solution yet.
I am against fuss, especially when it is covered with the slogan “it is better to do and regret than not to do and regret”. If you knew how much you do too much and how much further you would go if you acted according to the principle: "it is better to think, talk to people, gather information and try to do well the first time." I am for the action after the analysis. And this sequence is not violated even under the pressure of time, emotions and public opinion.
I am against speculation. When people criticize, condemn, draw conclusions and make decisions based on how they perceived, not what was actually said. When the lack of context is made up for by fantasy, because you are too lazy to ask a clarifying question and make sure that the interpretation is correct. I am for objectivity, even if it often loses to charisma.
I am against taken out of context. Goals without strategy, systems without culture, criticism without understanding the root causes that gave rise to the opinion or situation.
I am against excesses. Against clutter of accessories. Against, when the question "why is it needed?" asked last.
I am for simple solutions. And the simple is not equally obvious. And simplicity in the context of elegance is not at all the same as in the context of "could not afford anything better." I am against another check in a complex system.
I am against ignorance and incompetence. Especially when they are supported by excessive enthusiasm. I am for talent when he is in his place and against when someone's vacant place is occupied by mediocrity.
